Our Popular Plantation
On a sunny afternoon in July when I was visiting the UK, I took a ride out to the BGI Ltd. plantation where I saw some very innovative Projects. They were doing research on various regenerative and circular solutions for growing trees and then processing waste products into a fuel or soil amendment. I was invited by XMET, representatives for the OMPECO solution that processes organic waste into reusable products. My company Andela Products turns waste glass back into sand, and we wanted to see what happens when we put this all together.
We saw some amazing glass and soil combinations growing the micro greens with some very interesting results. After a lot of information exchange, and tours of the plantation we all agreed there is more that we want to do together to find the best combinations of green waste and glass waste to make a beneficial soil.
I was impressed with the team’s knowledge and experience! Thank you for the tour and looking forward to working together.

I thank you for the generous welcome onto your land and into your inspiring projects. You are doing great work in support of the great need we have to bring into being a more harmonious and nature-inspired relationship with all life. You are leading the way both locally and globally toward real solutions for regenerating our soil and realising a new sustainable food story.

We are also harvesting vast areas of fire damaged timbers (as a result of the unprecedented number of wild fires in the region since 2020) this will require re-forestation of circa 2,000 square kilometres of forestry. The potential to enhance growth rates and patterns is of great interest and the research undertaken invaluable to us and we would very much like to be included in your circulation of any and all additional research.
We are also keen to learn more of your newly developed fire-resistant processes which may be of great benefit to us for the future.
As mentioned, we were very impressed with the research being advanced and can only praise the efforts made and the open and informative approach you and your team have adopted. We believe the research will have a great influence and impact on future forestry planning.
